ACCESS +

The ACCESS+ project aims to address the persistent barriers that limit accessibility in Cypriot cities and to strengthen the equal participation of persons with disabilities in social and professional life.

Project Name: ACCESS+

Organisations: Ablebook, Ena Emeis

Target Group: Persons with disabilities

Project Duration: 12/2025 – 08/2026

Total Funding: €20,000

The ACCESS+ project aims to address the persistent barriers that limit accessibility in Cypriot cities and to strengthen the equal participation of persons with disabilities in social and professional life. Through a participatory mapping initiative, data, images, and proposals for infrastructure improvements will be collected, involving people with disabilities, volunteers, and local stakeholders. Ena Emeis, with experience in participatory research and social impact actions, will support community engagement and volunteer training.

At the same time, the Ablebook platform will be enhanced with new digital tools: a reporting system for inaccessible or obstructive infrastructure (such as illegal parking and blocked ramps), and a new section featuring employment opportunities for persons with disabilities in Cyprus. In this way, the project goes beyond identifying problems and creates immediate solutions that promote social inclusion and professional empowerment.

Ablebook will coordinate the project and ensure its technological implementation. By combining technology, citizen participation, and institutional cooperation, ACCESS+ aspires to create a lasting impact on local communities and serve as a model for a more inclusive Cyprus.
